On September 25, 2007, the City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:  

Bid#B07057 – Master Street Tree Program – Parks and Recreation

VENDOR	TOTAL  BID
Arbor Masters	$  44,642.00
Rosehill Gardens	47,645.00
Sand Creek Nursery	49,669.75

Parks and Recreation requested bids for 221 trees for the Master Street Tree Project.  The price of the trees is collected from the building contractors when they pick up their building permits.

Sand Creek Nursery completed all required documents and meetings, however came in at high price of $224.75 each. (We collect $225.00 each tree per city policy)

Additionally Rosehill Nursery did not submit required documents of a bid bond nor attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting.   Price range was $215-220 each.

Arbormasters did submit a bid bond, but did not attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting.   The price was $202.00 each.

Recommendation Action:

Approve low bid from Sand Creek Nursery in the amount of $49,669.75 (Parks and Recreation/Landscaping)
