Re: |
Pesticide reduction program |
Per our discussion during our meeting of July 24, 2007, I’m attaching some documents that are relevant to future planning for the City’s Pesticide Reduction Program:
· July 24 memo from Mark Hecker outlining suggested steps for program (with attachments)
· City of Santa Barbara, California’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Strategy
City staff has proceeded with step (5) which involved applying for a K-State IPM mini-grant. It’s my understanding that you will be reviewing plans for the program at the next Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meeting. With the Board’s concurrence, staff would hope to proceed with the remaining steps outlined in the July 24th memo from Mark Hecker, along with any other suggested strategies put forward by the Board.
City staff looks forward to working with you, the members of the Board, and interested stakeholders to develop a program that will meet the goals of pesticide reduction within our community. Thank you for your interest in this process and your willingness to move forward with the program.
