Call meeting to order.
Lewis called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m.
Introductions.
The Board Members and guests introduced themselves.
Approve the July 18, 2007 minutes.
Carpenter made a motion to approve the minutes. Dillon second the motion, the motion passed 4-0.
Review the 2006 International Codes.
Staff presented the Board with the revised draft ordinances for the International Plumbing and Residential Codes. Staff then went through each of the ordinance sections for the Board starting with the IPC.
Breithaupt spoke up about section 5-509 questioning the relevance of the ordinance.
Carpenter agreed with Breithaupt and made a motion to remove section 5-509 from the International Plumbing Code draft ordinance, Dillon second the motion, the motion passed 4-0.
Staff noticed an error with section 5-509.2 and explained the corrections to the Board.
Dillon asked if anyone had issue with allowing air admittance valves in new construction for island sinks.
Breithaupt stated that the only issue he had was the whether the diaphragm could with stand the pressure from a dishwasher if the drain is clogged.
Carpenter stated that he agreed with the way the ordinance was written in regards to air admittance valves.
With no other comments on the IPC ordinance staff moved onto the IRC ordinance. Staff pointed out that section 3-324 was the same as 5-509 and asked for a motion if the Board choose to delete this section as well.
Breithaupt made a motion to remove section 3-324 from the International Residential Code draft ordinance, Dillon second the motion, the motion passed 4-0.
Completing the review staff asked if there were questions or comments. With no comments staff asked for a motion on the IPC and IRC ordinances.
Carpenter made a motion to accept the International Plumbing code and the International Residential Code ordinances pending changes made, Breithaupt second the motion, the motion passed 4-0.
Adjourn
With no other business a motion was made by Breithaupt to adjourn the meeting, Carpenter second the motion, the motion passed 4-0.
Lewis adjourned the meeting at 7:10 p.m.
