The following equipment and vehicles meets or exceeds the criteria for replacement, or is no longer useful to the City. We request City Commission approval to sell the surplus equipment and vehicles on Gov Deals as we have done in the past

Public Works Equipment

The Maintenance Garage has a large drill press that is in poor condition.  It’s known to be over 33 years old but don’t know exactly how old.  They also have a 1971 tire machine and a 1990 tire balancer that have been replaced and are being stored at this time.  The Street Division has a 175 cfm air compressor that is in poor condition and has been replaced.

Parks and Recreation Equipment

Parks and Recreation has a dolphin slide that was originally purchased as an in-water play feature for the Indoor Aquatic Center in 2000.  It was replaced 2 years ago due to wear and pealing paint on the rubber surface. The surface of the slide can not be repaired for reuse in a public pool setting.  Parks and Recreation also has two scoreboards and controllers that were used at the Holcom Park Center Gym.  These were replaced four months ago due to the large amount of time needed for maintenance in the recent years.

Utilities Equipment

The Utilities Department is requesting to sell a 1996 Target concrete saw that was replaced last month.  The saw qualifies for replacement under the Maintenance Garage guidelines.

Vehicles

The City is requesting to sell four vehicles, two Utilities vehicles and two Public Works vehicles.  These vehicles have high mileage and high maintenance costs and qualify for replacement under the Maintenance Garage guidelines.
