Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the August 7, 2007 meeting:

Resolution for Additional Funding for Kasold – Bob Billings Pkwy to 22^nd St. This provides required additional funding for final project change order items.

Project History.  Resolution No. 6647 was approved on May 2, 2006 authorizing issuance of $5,110,000 in general obligation bonds for engineering, construction and inspection work on the Kasold reconstruction project. Resolution 6726 was approved on June 12, 2007 authorizing issuance of an additional $300,000 in bonds for a total bonded amount of $5,410,000.  Expenditures are as follows:

Construction Costs

     Original Contract -Street & Storm Sewer           $4,786,999.61

     Change Orders                                           $   221,852.95 

     Total Construction                                                $5,008,852.56

     Incentive for Early Completion                       $   100,000.00

Proposed Project Details. The additional funding needed covers additional traffic control, pavement marking and signal loop replacement required in the section of Kasold between 22^nd and Clinton Parkway that was repaved. It also includes the additional costs for revisions to the streetlight fixtures.

Proposed Project Status.  The Kasold project is complete except for the changes to the streetlight that Westar will be making shortly.

Project Funding. The additional funding requested is proposed to come from bond proceeds.

Action Request.  Public Works staff requests approval of the proposed Resolution No. 6733 for additional bond funding in the amount of $32,611 for Kasold.
