Chronology, 1230 New York Street

 

 

May 2004        Complaint received of abandoned house, windows broken, etc. A courtesy letter was mailed requiring the windows and doors to be secured.

 

April 2005        Staff was unable to locate the owner and trespassers are a concern, City staff boarded up the windows and doors.

 

Dec 2005         Received a call from a neighbor that transients are removing the plywood and entering the back of the house. Staff contacted Jesse Del Campo and he re-secured the structure. He advised he has a contract to purchase this property, has paid off a 2nd mortgage on the property and has paid the taxes but has not been able to locate the owner of record. He said he intends to remove the structure once he is the registered owner.

 

July 2006         Property needs to be cleaned up, tires/debris in yard, tree limbs, etc. Contacted Jesse Del Campo, the property was cleaned up.

 

Oct 15 2006    The electrical service is pulling away from the structure. Contacted Jesse Del Campo and Westar to have service removed.

 

Jan 5 2007       Inspected, the plywood has been removed from the back door. Staff contacted Jesse Del Campo.

 

Jan 10 2007     Structure is secure.

 

Mar 2007         Spoke with Jesse Del Campo regarding status of ownership. He advised he has still not been able to locate the owner of record, Arthur Carmona. I advised him to get an attorney to get ownership issue resolved.

 

Jul 20 2007      Inspected property, interior and exterior, with Jesse Del Campo (staff present: Tony Hoch, Larry Hamm, Julie Wyatt and Brian Jimenez). An inspection report is attached.
