Flood information brochure distributed
During the month of August, Lawrence residents will receive a Flood Information Brochure inserted with their water bill. The brochure provides information on obtaining flood insurance, flood safety, obtaining a floodplain development permit, and historical information on floods in the Lawrence. This outreach brochure is sent out by the Planning Department annually and is part of the city’s participation in the Community Rating System (CRS), which enables property owners in the City of Lawrence to receive a discount on flood insurance.
Update on 25th Terrace project
The attached memo gives an update on the construction of 25th Terrace from O’Connell Road to Franklin Road. Plans for this benefit district funded project are 65% complete and the project should be bid in September.
July sales tax report
The attached report shows that the July sales tax distribution was in line with projections.
Parks & Recreation applies for Integrated Pest Management grant
The Parks & Recreation Department has applied for an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) grant from the Kansas State Extension Service. The grant could provide up to $8,000 (no matching funds required) to help develop a city-wide IPM program and policy manual. IPM practices are important components of “green” (or pesticide reduction) parks programs.
