RE:	Ordinance No. 8098

Adoption of Ordinance No. 8098 will effectively publish all text amendments to the Development Code (Chapter 20, City Code) that have been approved by the City Commission since July 1, 2006, the effective date of the Development Code.  Due to the number of text amendments which have been initiated by Staff, considered by the Planning Commission and approved by the City Commission since the effective date of the Code, this ordinance, when published, will incorporate the amendments by reference.  All amendments are contained within the attached “Incorporation by Reference Document”.  This document shows the existing language of the Development Code and the amended language so that it is clear what is being amended.  This document has been posted on the Planning Department’s website at www.lawrenceplanning.org so that the public may view the changes which have been approved. 

Following publication after second reading of this ordinance, Staff will post the revised Development Code on the website and will make copies on available on CD. 

Recommended Action:  Staff requests that the City Commission adopt, on first reading, Ordinance No. 8098 which will provide for the adoption the revised Development Code containing all text amendments approved by the City Commission since July 1, 2006.
