Demolition Permit Conditions for 1019 Kentucky Street:
Prior to the City’s issuance of a demolition permit for the structure located at 1019 Kentucky the property owner shall grant to the City of Lawrence a conservation easement for the property and shall record the conservation easement with the Douglas County Register of Deeds.
The purpose of the conservation easement is to maintain the historical, architectural or cultural aspects of the property. The conditions of the conservation easement include:
· Except for the two existing parking spaces currently on the property, no parking lot whether improved or unimproved, including but not limited to asphalt, concrete, gravel or dirt shall be permitted on 1019 Kentucky
· Maintenance of 1019 Kentucky and the screening of the two existing parking spaces from view of persons on Kentucky Street or adjoining right-of-way shall be the responsibility of the owner(s) of record.
The conservation easement condition is in addition to any other demolition permit requirements of the City of Lawrence. .
At the request of current or future property owners the City Commission, may at a regular meeting of the Governing Body rescind or modify the terms of the conservation easement.
