Subject: Signage for Master Gardeners Garden Tour
Bobbie:
We spoke by phone a few weeks ago about signage for the Douglas County Extension Master Gardeners' Garden Tour, which is scheduled for June 2 and June 3.
You requested that we e-mail you information regarding locations for the signs, size of the signs, and when we would put them up and take them down, so that this information could be made part of the agenda and presented to the City Commission at the next regular meeting.
The signs, which would be used to direct traffic to the featured gardens, are wood and are painted green with contrasting lettering and arrows. We plan to attach a few ballons to each sign to make them more noticeable. The signs are 30 inches by 6 inches, on stakes that are between 30 and 35 inches above the ground. On all but three of the signs, the 30 inch side of the sign is horizontal, parallel to the ground. On three of the signs, the 30 inch side is vertical.
The requested locations for the signs are as follows:
On the north side of Clinton Parkway, between Lawrence and Kasold:
Approximately 20 feet east of the Northeast corner of the intersection of Clinton Parkway and Hartford;
Northwest corner of 22nd St. and Quail Creek Drive, near the fire hydrant;
Northeast corner of Camelback Dr. and Quail Creek Drive;
Approximately 20 feet east from the Northeast corner of Crossgate and Clinton Parkway;
Approximately 20 feet east from the Northeast corner of Inverness and Clinton Parkway;
Northeast corner of Prestwick Drive and Inverness;
Northeast corner of Prestwick Court and Inverness;
Center Median at Bob Billings and Inverness;
Northeast corner of Bob Billings and Monterey Way;
Northwest corner of Monterey Way and 13th;
Southeast corner of Monterey Way and 6th:
Northeast corner of Kasold and 6th;
Northwest corner of Kasold and Trail Road;
North side of 6th, just west of the HyVee Parking Lot Entrance;
Approximately 20 feet east of the Northeast corner of 6th and Wakarusa;
Northeast corner of Wakarusa and Queens Road;
6th and Massachusetts, in the park area on the north side between the north and south- bound lanes;
East side of North 2nd, under the turnpike bridge; and
Approximately 20 feet south of the Southeast corner of North 2nd Street and 24/40.
We would put the signs up Friday, June 1 or before 9 a.m. Saturday, June 2. We would take the signs down Sunday, June 3 after 5:30 p.m. or Monday, June 4.
Please let me know if you need anything else to process this request. Thanks for your help.
