RE:	Signs for Annual Helmet Fair

The Lawrence Helmet Fair is a project of the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical and provides custom- fitted helmets for any child 15 years old or younger. The fair also provides bike inspections, child safety passenger safety check, a bicycle rodeo course and a safe ride course.  The objectives of the fair are to teach the rules of the road, boating safety and provide information on public transit.

The fair will be held on Saturday, May 12 at Free State High School.  I am requesting approval to place a temporary sign at the intersection of 6^th Street and Folks Road in the City’s right-of-way.  The sign is approximately 10 ft X 3 ft and would be displayed from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The sign would provide location details for the event.
