RE:	Sertoma Club’s Request to Sell Alcoholic Beverages at Broken Arrow Park

The Sertoma Club of Lawrence is planning a BBQ fundraiser at Broken Arrow Park on Friday, May 11^th and Saturday May 12, 2007.  The club is requesting approval to sell alcoholic beverages at the fundraiser and for attendees to possess and consume these beverages at the park.  The club has already obtained a temporary license from the Alcohol Beverage Control for this event and is ready to obtain a temporary City license.

Because the sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in Broken Arrow Park, an ordinance allowing the temporary sale possession and consumption is required.  I have attached a copy of Ordinance 8102 for consideration and approval.  This ordinance allows the temporary sale, possession, and consumption on May 11^th from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on May 12^th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
