ONE (1) BACKHOE PURCHASE – B07019
The Utilities Department requested bids for a new backhoe. This is an addition to the fleet, however, Unit 293 presently in the Utilities Department is in a high use position and we would like to replace it with the new backhoe and transfer Unit 293 to Parks and Recreation in a lower use position to add additional years to the machine.
The three low bidders, Precision Tractor and Equipment, Road Builders, and Murphy Tractor, did not meet the specifications. We required a digging depth of 20 feet and their machines could not reach that depth. The bid from Victor L. Phillips met all specifications.
This purchase was approved in the 2007 budgeting process.
