ONE (1) MEDIUM DUTY SINGLE AXLE TRUCK, CAB AND CHASSIS – PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT – B07008

Public Works/Street Division requested bids for a medium duty single axle truck, cab and chassis.  Presently we are using Unit 753 which has a crane mounted on the chassis and used mainly to move concrete forms and pipe, lifting up to 5 tons and carrying up to 8 tons.  Unit 753 is worn out and needs to be replaced however the crane is a 1995 model in good condition and will be mounted on the new chassis. We are also requesting an additional $800 to have the wheel base modified on the new truck to make a better fit for our existing crane.  Bids were sent to 25 vendors and placed on DemandStar but we received only one bid. This purchase was approved in the 2007 budgeting process.
