Meeting called to order at 5:37 by Ross.

Members reviewed two proposed budgets.  After much work, the proposed budget for the board was completed.  Conceptually, the major change was allocating money directly to the two Friends groups from the budget and / or from their five-year reserve monies to spend on activities related to their needs for promoting and fostering the relationship with their sister city.  The change parallels the policy changes adopted by the board to give each Friends group more self-determination in their activities.

In the proposed budget, each sister city was allocated $1,500 from the 2007 budget.  FOE were also allocated $2,000 from their $5,000 five-year reserve as requested, leaving $3,000 in that reserve, to pay for expenses for the 750^th birthday gifts to Eutin.  This will leave FOE approximately $320 to spend after projected gift expenses (this does not include money from students for their exchange trip as this is a separate line item and account for each group) for 2007.  FOH have $5,000 in their five-year reserve and $1,500 for the 2007 year.  Monies not spent from the allocated $1,500 allocated in 2007 budget rollover to each Friends group as specified in our policies. 

The budget will be presented at the next meeting.
