DIRT WORK – PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT – #B07005

Parks and Recreation requested bids for hourly rates for dirt work. This bid is for small jobs and small repairs for the 2007 calendar year and was written so other City departments can utilize the pricing. First Management bid a Bobcat 430 mini excavator rather than a backhoe which was not what the bid called for. It is smaller equipment and will take more hours to get the jobs done. The second low bid from LRM Industries bid full size equipment that can handle the jobs. Parks and Recreation estimated there could be up to $75,000 spent on these jobs. These projects will come out of many accounts that were approved in the 2007 budgeting process.
Recommendation Action:
Approve hourly rate price bid for dirt work for small jobs from LRM Industries not to exceed $75,000.00. (Parks and Recreation accounts)
