RE:	February 6, 2007 Consent Agenda Item Federal-Aid Safety Program Fiscal Years 2008 and 2009

Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the February 6, 2007 meeting:

Attached is a letter from KDOT identifying three intersections as candidates eligible for Highway Safety Improvement Program funding.  These intersections were evaluated based on accident rates.  Staff is working on receiving KDOT’s evaluation of these intersections and recommended improvements. 

KDOT has requested that the city provide a response to accept or not accept a project by March 30, 2007.  Any project accepted/approved would be constructed in FY 08/09.

Action Request:    Receive correspondence from KDOT regarding Federal-Aid Safety Program.
