Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the January 23, 2007 meeting:
Request to set bid date of February 20, 2007 for Project No. 02-SR2-107(C), 2007 (City Bid No. B07007) Crack Seal Program.
Project Description. The project includes 225,000 lbs. of crack seal material to be placed on the streets highlighted on the attached map.
Project History. In 2005 the city contracted 75,000 lbs. to be placed on streets with a PCI (Pavement Condition Index) greater than 60; 28 lane miles were sealed. In 2006 the city contracted 386,580 lbs. of material to be placed on streets with a PCI greater than 60; 158 lane miles were sealed. Additionally, the Street Division has supplemented this effort on larger collector and arterial streets.
Project Details. In 2007 the city will contract for approximately 225,000 lbs. to be placed on streets with a PCI greater than 60; these areas are identified on the attached map. Crack sealing needs to be done early in the season. This project will begin in the spring and be completed by mid-June.
Project Funding. This project is part of our street maintenance program. Staff will present a detailed program in late February/March and provide a report on the efforts of crack sealing and the affect to the pavement condition. This project was approved and budgeted for 2007.
