RE: |
agenda item - Clinton Plant Polymer
|
Please place the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at their January 16, 2007 meeting:
Nalcolyte 8186 polymer, a water treatment chemical, needs to be ordered for the Clinton Water Treatment Plant. The polymer is provided by only one vendor, at $ 0.57 per pound (the same price as last year).
Details: This product has been used at the Clinton Water Treatment plant as the primary coagulant for 15 years. This is a critical treatment process to ensure the drinking water will meet the regulatory requirements to provide safe drinking water.
Funding: This purchase will be funded from the Clinton Treatment Plant’s chemical line item of the 2007-operating budget.
Action Request: Staff is requesting approval to issue a purchase order for 6 month usage to Nalco Chemical Company for $51,300.00 (includes freight) for 90,000 pounds of chemical.
Thank you for your consideration of this request. Please let me know if you have any questions.
