On December 19, 2006 the City of Lawrence requested bids for the Greenbelt Park Walkway Construction, bid #B06067.
Parks and Recreation requested bids for the construction of the Greenbelt Park walkway. This purchase will construct the first phase of the concrete trails in the Greenbelt Park. This first phase does not complete the concrete walkways in the park. However, through a combination of concrete walkways, natural trails, and limestone screening trails, a complete trail around the greenbelt will be delineated with first phase funding.
This new park development was approved for construction by the City Commission in October of 2006. The linear foot pricing will allow for increased flexibility in the field to allow the path to follow natural contours. With the budgeted funds we anticipate installing approximately 2400 feet of 8ft path and approximately 500 feet of 5ft path (see attached map).
