VIBRATORY ROLLER – B06064
The Public Works Department requested bids for a used vibratory roller. The vibratory roller is used for asphalt and rock compaction. The low bid from Martin tractor did not meet the City’s requirements of 500 hours or less, their equipment has 528 hours of use. Both Murphy Tractor and Sellers Equipment bid 2006 demonstrator models with less than 50 hours. The machine from Sellers has the heaviest weight, 8,598 lbs. and the greatest centrifugal force for compaction. They also have a two year warranty rather than a one year warranty that Murphy offered. Staff recommends the Sellers Equipment bid as being most advantageous to the City of Lawrence. This purchase was approved by the City Manager.
