RE:

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board recommendation on park in Oregon Trail Addition

On December 12th the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board voted unanimously to approve the concept of forming benefit districts to develop parks and particularly the 4.74 acre park in the Oregon Trail Addition.

This Oregon Trail plat is being re-submitted to include the park development as discussed in recent meetings that Mark Hecker and I have attended and to include “re-acceptance” of easements and right of ways.

We have a need for additional neighborhood parks in this growing northwest section of Lawrence and this proposal will help fit our park needs in that area.

We will be happy to work with John McGrew and his engineers to make this proposal and unprecedented concept for a park in this newly developed area of Lawrence a reality.

If you have any questions, let me know.
