STAFF PRESENT FOR BID OPENING on November 28, 2006:  Tony L. Hoch, Larry E. Hamm, Alan Landis, Frank Reeb.

 

COMPREHENSIVE HOUSING REHABILITATION SCOPE OF WORK:

 

1312 Summit: Lead based paint in trim and porch.  Flat and pitched roof replacement, fascia and soffit repairs, replace garage door, exterior painting, interior foundation crack repair, sump pump, water heater, clothes dryer vent, refinish wood floors, replace ceiling tiles, provide ground protection for some outlets, prep and paint 3 rooms, install vinyl in kitchen, window repairs and painting, finish sheetrock, paint and provide floor covering for one unfinished room, minor bath repairs.  

 

1140 Pennsylvania St:  Lead based paint exterior.  Paint Stabilization.  Replace rear porch floor, straighten foundation and stabilize, replace furnace and water heater, repair windows and paint, knob and tube wiring in basement repair, ground outlets in other parts of house, install ceiling fan boxes, wall repair and painting in stairwell, replace one window unit.  Alternate # 1 to add A/C during furnace installation.

                   Alternate #2 upgrade furnace from 80% to 90% efficiency.

                   Alternate #3 Alternate Foundation repair method.

                  

Two companies, Penny Construction, Inc. and T & J Holdings, Inc. previewed the work prior to bid.  Penny Construction was the only contractor to submit bids.  They were:

1312 Summit: Penny Construction, Inc. for $24,751.00.

 

1140 Pennsylvania St: Penny Construction, Inc.  Homeowner wishes to accept all alternate bids for a total of $31,851.00.  Homeowner will be providing $6,851.00 in escrow to pay the balance of the contact above the $25,000.00 program limit.
