RE:              Building Permit report

Attached to this memorandum find building permit data for the year through November 2006.  The total number of building permits issued this year is 2,478 as compared to 2,544 for the same period in 2005.  This decrease is related to fewer building permits issued during the month of November for new single-family, duplex and remodel work.  For the year, though, 227 single-family building permits have been issued, as compared to 206 single-family building permits during the same period for 2005.

The overall valuation for building permits issued is at 164,898,884 as compared to last year same period at $122,929,445.  However building permit fees collected to-date are at $810,599 as compared to 816,317.  The higher valuation figure includes several City projects for which no building permit fee is collected.
