RE:	December 5, 2006 Agenda Item Delaware Commons, 13^th Street Project No. 47-ST9-804(BD) Engineering Agreement

Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the December 5, 2006 meeting:

Engineering Contract.  The scope of the project includes engineering design for the construction of public improvements, including storm sewer and sidewalk improvements.     The firm Gastinger Walker Harden Architects was selected for the Delaware Commons project.

Project History.  On April 4, 2006 the City Commission approved Resolution 6633 establishing a benefit district for this project.

Project Status.  Construction of the storm sewer is complete, as well as the sidewalk along Delaware Street.  Remaining sidewalk along 13^th Street is needed, as well as several handicap ramps.  The engineering was completed. The firm, however, mistakenly thought they had executed the agreement.  Upon billing for the work, staff inquired about the status of the agreement.  The plans have been approved.

Action Request.  Authorize City Manager to enter into an agreement for engineering services for Delaware Commons public improvements with Gastinger Walker Harden Architects in an amount of $5,500.00.
