MINUTES OF A SPECIAL CONFERENCE CALL MEETING

OF THE

LAWRENCE-DOUGLAS COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

November 14, 2006                                                                                         Edgewood Homes

10:15 a.m.                                                                                                        Executive Office

1.         Call of Roll.

              The meeting was called to order at 10:19 a.m. by Chair, Wes Smith.  The following Commissioners answered present:

            Brenda O’Keefe

            Willie Amison

            Wes Smith

            Mark Gonzales

            Absent with prior approval, Commissioner Johnson.     

            Also present were James Dunn, Landlords of Lawrence; Vickie Butler and Barbara Huppee, LDCHA staff members. 

            Chairman Smith adjourned into Executive Session for 15 minutes to discuss the acquisition of the Clinton Place property.

            The meeting was reconvened into Regular Session at 10:38 a.m. by Chairman Smith. 

            Chairman Smith moved to accept the counter offer of $1,350,000 for the purchase of Clinton Place contingent upon HUD’s approval.  Commissioner Amison seconded the motion.  The motion carried unanimously four to zero. 

            Ms. Huppee stated that she would convey the acceptance of the offer to the seller.

            There being no further items of business, Chairman Smith moved to adjourn.  Commissioner Amison seconded the motion.  The meeting was adjourned at 11:45 a.m.
