Please place the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at their December 5, 2006 meeting:

Purchase of Holiday Banners for Downtown Lawrence

Judy Billings, Executive Vice President of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Rick Marquez, director of Downtown Lawrence, Inc., solicited bids for purchase and installation of banners, brackets, and poles for holiday decorations downtown.  The bid results are as follows:

          JP Graphics                        $26,584.50

          Sign*A*Rama                     $27,830.51

The City Manager’s Office suggests the use of Guest Tax Reserve Funds for this purchase.

Action Item:  Authorize the City Manager to utilize Guest Tax Reserve Funds in the amount of $26,584.50 to JP Graphics for holiday banners, brackets, and poles for downtown Lawrence.
