Solid Waste equipment is replaced according to our equipment replacement schedule. The equipment replacement schedule is based on age, mileage, hours of use, and cost of maintenance and upkeep. This truck is budgeted in the 2007 budget but we requested bids this year due to an $8,500.00 increase in the chassis after the first of the year. The purchase order will not be cut until after the first of January 2007. The price includes a trade-in offer for Unit 418 of $42,500.00 which is at the end of its life cycle. Budget authority has been approved for this purchase in 2007.
Recommendation Action:
Approve low bid from Downing Sales and Service for (1) front load refuse truck in the amount of $131,238.00 (Public Works/Solid Waste)
