TEE MOWER PURCHASE FOR EAGLE BEND GOLF COURSE –

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

Parks and Recreation is requesting to replace the tee mower at the Eagle Bend Golf Course. The State of Kansas does not have this type of mower available on the State Contract although we are able to utilize the State of Iowa Contract that does have this equipment.  Our present tee mower has high hours and maintenance costs and we would like to sell it on Gov Deals or ebay in the spring.  The purchase of the mower will go through Van Wall Equipment in Olathe, the closest John Deere Equipment dealer that sells golf course equipment.  The State price is a 25%discount off of MSRP. This purchase was budgeted in 2006

Recommendation Action: 

Approve purchase of John Deere tee mower through Van Wall Equipment in the amount of $24,222.75.  (Municipal Golf Course Fund & Special Recreations Fund)
