RE:	Codification of City Ordinances

Earlier this summer, the City Commission authorized the codification of City ordinances by adopting Ordinance No. 7879.  The commission also adopted Ordinance 7880 authorizing the publication of a July 1, 2006 edition of the City Code.  However, publication of the code was delayed so as to include several key code adoptions that occurred after July 1.  Those ordinances included various text amendments and clean-up ordinances to the new land development code, and the adoption of Ordinance 8021, which updated the public offense code of the City (chapter 14).  Staff has determined that all key code changes prior to publication are now complete and codification can proceed. 

Action Requested

Adopt Ordinance 8047 adopting the codification of ordinances of the City of Lawrence, said codification to become effective December 1, 2006.
