Re:                  Cisco Growing With Technology Award

The City of Lawrence has been named a grand prize recipient of Cisco Systems’  “Growing With Technology Awards Contest 2006” in the public sector category.  This particular award recognizes small to mid-sized organizations that make resourceful and innovative use of Internet and networking technologies. 

John Williams, Information Systems network administrator, recently responded to this technology contest by submitting a written narrative describing many of the technology initiatives completed in recent years that help to better serve our citizens and employees.  In recognition of this award John was notified that the City of Lawrence will be receiving $25,000 in Cisco products, an award plaque, and recognition at the award ceremony in San Jose, California.  Cisco Systems is a major provider of network management and security systems.
