DIGESTER GAS COMPRESSOR SEPARATOR EQUIPMENT

UTILITIES DEPARTMENT – #B06051

Utilities Department requested bids for digester gas compressor separator equipment.  Three bid packets were mailed and the bid was placed on Demand Star.  The existing equipment has failed and needs to be replaced.  The separators are a component of the methane gas handling process at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The gas is compressed (with a gas compressor) and used for digester mixing, and is burned in the heat exchangers to provide sludge heat, and building heat for the anaerobic digester complex.  This purchase was not specifically called out in the 2006 budget but was planned maintenance.
