RE: |
Eagle Bend Golf Course
|
Attached is a nine month report for Eagle Bend Golf Course operations, covering the year-to-date period of January-September, 2006. The golf course operations have been having a good year through three quarters with revenue up almost 13% and rounds up almost 5% from 2005. To date expenses of $861,000 are down 1.6% from the same time period in 2005.
Please note that the nine months revenue of $920,500 is $14,300 less than the total annual revenue of $934,800 for 2005. Since we have three months of golf operations left in 2006, conservative estimates place total revenue for 2006 at $1 million.
Staff attributes this positive report on revenue and expenditures to a variety of factors, including:
· fewer days the course was closed due to inclement weather;
· completion of the five year contract of the GPS system on golf carts in May;
· high use of Eagle Bend by Lawrence Country Club members (their course reopened September 29th);
· staff commitment to monitoring expenditures and increasing effectiveness of operations.
John Morris, our new Golf Course Operations Supervisor, Greg Dannevick, Asst. Golf Course Operations Supervisor, Kerry Golden, Park District Supervisor, and many other staff members are doing an excellent job at Eagle Bend. We trust that good weather will remain for golf play this fall and winter and we look forward to reporting our annual numbers at the end of the year.
