RE: |
Pump Station #48 Sanitary Sewer Connection Fee Ordinance
|
In conjunction with the proposed Pump Station #48 project being considered on tonight’s agenda staff is recommending the enactment of a Pump Station #48 Connection Fee ordinance. The cost of the project will be shared by developments benefiting from the infrastructure improvements through the future payment of a connection fee.
The fee will be imposed on each proposed applicant for connection to the sanitary sewer in the area designated as the “Pump station #48 service area” and is in addition to and supplemental to other all other fees and charges that would assessed to connect to the sanitary sewer system such as tap fees, systems development charges, special assessments or other fees required by city code.
All property in the City that would contribute flow to pump station #48 would be required to pay the connection fee except for those areas as described by the map in exhibit 1. The areas described by the map are excluded from the connection fee although they are in the service area of pump station #48 because they already have public sewer systems designed and approved by the City that will provide service to the areas designated by the map.
The proposed ordinance and a map showing the area to be excluded from the connection fee are attached.
