RE:	Project No. 36-CP12-704(S) Kasold Drive, Peterson Road to the KTA Bridge Street. Storm Sewer Improvements August 29, 2006 Agenda Item

Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the August 29, 2006 meeting:

Project Description. This project will include the reconstruction of Kasold Drive from Peterson Road north to the KTA. The improvements will include a wide single-lane street in each direction (similar to Princeton Boulevard and Lawrence Avenue), with curb and gutter, landscaped median, roundabouts at Grand Vista Drive and Tillerman Drive, recreation path and sidewalk, and waterline.

Project History. The project was placed on the City’s 5-Year Plan with KDOT in April 2004 and has been in the City’s CIP since 1999.

Project Status. This project is scheduled to bid in October 2006. Final plans are approved through KDOT.

In September 2004, Resolution 6566 authorized the issuance of Bonds in the amount of $770,000 for this project.

Action Request. Adopt Resolution No. 6676 authorizing the Mayor to execute the City/State Agreement No. 139-06 with the Kansas Department of Transportation, and authorize the Mayor to execute Agreement No. 126-06.

Adopt Resolution No. 6678 authorizing the issuance of bonds in the amount of $1,200,000.
