Dave,

This letter is to request the participation and sponsorship support of the City of Lawrence in the "Get Downtown" activity scheduled for October 6, 2006.

You have been sent under separate cover the specifics of the event relative to readiness issues such as street closure, etc.

The Lawrence Chamber will serve as the organizer of the event. The KU Alumni Association will be joining us as a primary sponsor of this event.

Our request of the city would be to ask you for a $5,000 cash sponsorship. The city would then be added as a primary sponsor of this event.

If you need additional information, please let me know. We do appreciate all that city staff has done in preparation for the event.
