RESOLUTION NO. 6675

 

                                    A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE,

                                    KANSAS, ORDERING THE IMPROVEMENT AND

                                    AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL

                                    OBLIGATION BONDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION,

                                    IMPROVEMENT AND REPAIR OF CERTAIN

CITY PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES PURSUANT TO CHARTER ORDINANCE NO. 32

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:

 

Section 1.         The governing body hereby finds that the design, construction, improvement and repair of the Carnegie building (former public library) is in the public interest and is hereby ordered.

 

Section 2.        The Governing Body hereby orders the above design, construction, improvement and repair and allocates for the projects described in Section 1, the amount of $ 600,000, plus issuance and interest costs, for said projects.  The cost of the project shall be paid from all lawful sources including the issuance of General Obligation Bonds pursuant to Charter Ordinance No. 32.

 

Section 3.        The City expects to make additional capital expenditures on and after the date of adoption of this resolution in connection with the project set forth in this resolution, and the City intends to reimburse itself for such expenditures with the proceeds of the bonds and/or notes in the maximum principal amount of $600,000.
