RE:	KTA Bridge Sidewalk

The bridges on both N. Iowa and N. Michigan over the KTA are being replaced by the KTA. At the March 28, 2006 City Commission Meeting it was approved to add a 6’ sidewalk on the N. Michigan Street bridge over the KTA on the west side. The additional cost is estimated at $200,000. The project is anticipated to bid in April 2007 and construction to begin in May 2007.

In order to be included in the upcoming bond sale, attached is a funding resolution for this project. The KTA is developing an agreement for the additional work/costs which will be presented for Commission review later this year.

Action Requested:

Approve Resolution 6670 authorizing the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds for Certain Main Trafficway Improvements (the addition of a 6’ sidewalk on the N. Michigan Street Bridge over the KTA) in an amount of $200,000.
