In
2000 the City purchased a used Oce copy machine for 2nd floor in
City Hall. The service calls are
becoming more frequent (resulting in more downtime) and the maintenance
provider has expressed concern over being able to find replacement parts. Approval to purchase a new replacement copy machine
was granted last week but the company we are purchasing our new machine from
declined to take it as a trade. I have
checked ebay and Gov Deals and can’t find copy machines similar and the ones
that were listed had not received any bids.
Due to its age and condition I feel it would cost more in time and
listing fees than we could receive. I
request the Oce copy machine be declared salvage and we dispose of it through a
recycling firm.
Recommendation Action:
Approve
disposal of obsolete Oce copy machine through a recycling firm.
