The March 2006 Board Meeting minutes were reviewed and approved by a 4-0 vote
2. Airport Manager's Report
Debbie Van Saun, Airport Manager reviewed her report. A copy of the report is attached.
3. FBO Report
Lloyd Hetrick has received several requests from individuals wishing to hold private events at the airport, e.g., wedding ceremonies or receptions. After a discussion, the Board indicated that it did not believe it had any policy relative to these kinds of events. The Board would contact the City to determine if there was a City policy that would apply.
Lloyd also announced that the Lawrence Municipal Airport has been selected to be an en-route stop in the 2006 Ninety-Niner’s Air Race Classic to be conducted June 20-23, 2006. This competition will include approximately 30 women teams flying approximately 2,400 miles starting in Mesa, Arizona and end in Menominee, Minnesota.. Although 13 other Kansas airports have been en-route stops in the past, this is a first for the Lawrence Municipal Airport.
4. Spring 2006 Fly-In
The Advisory Board has decided to combine the Lawrence Municipal Airport Kristina Mohr Fund Raiser with a Father’s Fly In with the Fly-in. Both will be held on June 3, 2006 with June 10th and 24th identified as rain dates. Kristinia Kristina Moore Fund Raiser

ü 2006 Taxiway Project
Final plan review is underway. The first advertisement for the project is tentatively scheduled for 4/19, the pre-bid meeting scheduled for 5/4 and the bid opening for 5/16. These dates are dependent upon FAA review and approval of the plans and specs.
ü Misc. Maintenance Items
o The fuel farm leaks were repairs by Broyles out of Humbolt, Kansas. Repairs cost were $2,000.
o Crack sealing should be close to done. We plan on crack sealing every 2 years.
o The tall lighting for the apron has some lighting problems. It will be taken care of next week. Use of the high ranger from Parks will be required.
o Lloyd enquired about a pallet of bricks. We are trying to determine if these are the bricks that were to be placed in the lighting cans.
ü Rental Revenue Update
The attached reflects the current rental status of all leases at the airport. We continue to work to fill t-hangars as leases expire. We currently have a waiting list of fifteen. Two have declined at this time, but want to remain on the list. B-9 is currently empty. Hetrick Aircraft is next on the list. We are working with Lloyd to get a move in date and a lease signed. Notices have been sent out for renewals.
o A-9 John Tuttle
o B-2 Robert Mika
o C-5 Free State Flyers
