Downtown Flowers and New Greenhouse
The Parks & Recreation Landscape division is hard at work implementing the first phases of the new downtown landscape plan. To date this work has included replacement of trees along Mass, and reworking most of the raised planters to allow for additional flower plantings. In early spring, Pansies were planted in the corner planters to provide early season color that will last though May. We are currently in the process of planting the annuals that will provide color from May – September. The attached photos show the planting and the downtown flowers in our new poly house. This structure has allowed us to purchase flowers earlier in the spring and be able to hold, and grown them, to a bigger size without worrying about cold nighttime temperatures.
