RE:	Water Treatment Operator Certification

As a Class IV Water and Wastewater Treatment operation, the City of Lawrence Department of Utilities is required by KDHE to be under the operational control of certified operators.  Operators become certified by meeting education, experience, and training requirements set forth by KDHE.  Continued training is required every two years for renewal of the certifications.     

In the past month Donna Tucker and Cliff Reusch have both passed their KDHE Class IV Certifications.  Our complete staff of 16 water treatment plant operators is now Class IV certified.  This has been a goal of ours for the past several years and I think it is well worth noting.  The citizens of Lawrence are well served by these dedicated operators and they should be applauded for all of their hard work!
