On Monday, April 24, 2004 the City of Lawrence and Douglas County opened proposals for road salt in a cooperative purchasing agreement.  Last year the City purchased 1,500 tons of road salt in a cooperative bid with the County for $32.41 a ton.  This year we requested bids for 1,000 tons of salt with the option to buy an additional 500 tons in the spring of 2007.  The results are:

This purchase was budgeted in the 2006 budgeting process.

Recommendation Action: 

Approve bid from Hutchinson Salt for 1,000 tons of road salt in the amount of $34,710.00 (Public Works/Streets).
