RE:	Action Items from 04/19/06 and 04/27/06 Study Sessions

During the April 19, 2006 study session regarding the Cost of Growth Study and Public Improvement Financing Alternatives, the Commission directed continued work on the second phase of the Cost of Growth Study and requested that staff continue to provide information and options on public improvement financing alternatives, including excise taxes and impact fees.

During the April 27, 2006, study session regarding the 2007 City Budget, the City Commission gave the following directions and made the following information requests of City staff.

2007 Proposed Contracted Street Repair/Maintenance Program

• Work up options for brick streets (including benefit district options, maintenance costs for brick, experiences of other cities etc.)
• Organize dialogue among stakeholders to come up with criteria for deciding what to do with individual brick streets
• 5, 10, 20 year plan for bringing everything up to appropriate maintenance levels
• What percentage of the streets left of the maintenance line will be brought to the right of the line by spending the requested $6 million?

Compensation and Benefits

• How much do we spend per FTE on healthcare benefits, including comparisons to other peer communities?
