Dear Planning Commission,

We are providing this letter in order to address some issues and answer some questions more elaborately than possible on our UPR application. Googols of Fun and Googols of Learning are located in the northwest part of Lawrence. This area is growing very rapidly with new businesses and homes all around us and there is clearly a need for more childcare to accommodate Lawrence's growing community. Googols of Fun and Googols of Learning are an asset to this area of new growth. We provide quality entertainment and educational activities for this community's youth.

Googols of Learning is performing so well that we need to expand our classroom area within Googols of Fun. All changes will be made to the interior only and as such will not affect the site plan. Googols of Learning is requesting an increase of 50 enrolled students to the already approved 55. Since Googols of Fun's capacity is several hundred people,

the additional 50 students that we would like to enroll would put us no where near our maximum capacity. We believe that this would not be a departure from what you have already approved in the building.

With regard to traffic patterns and/or traffic congestion in and around Wakarusa Crossroads, we see no impact with adding 50 students to our maximum capacity. We open at 7:00 a.m., when most of the stores and restaurants are closed. Drop-offs are staggered until 9:00 a.m. Our student pickup times are staggered throughout the whole afternoon. Beginning at 12:00 p.m. and running throu^gh 6:00 p.m. So we feel this would cause no further problems with traffic. In fact, we believe it would enhance the multiuse shopping center we occupy by bringing more potential shoppers, on a daily basis, to all the tenants in Wakarusa Crossroads.

Our staff park in the back lot where there has always been more than ample room to park. There is plenty of space for the extra number of teachers needed to cover the additional 50 students. Plus, as Googols of Learning grows, the operation of Googols of

Fun will be reduced, Iikely to only Friday-Sunday. So, as the staff increases in Googols of Learning, the staff will decrease at Googols of Fun, thus allowing more parking for Googols of Learning employees on those days.
