Dear Bobbie,

I met with Mayor Highberger today and he recommended that I forward the attached resolution which calls for the establishment of a recreational trail between Lawrence and Topeka. The Topeka City Council will also be considering the resolution this spring. 

Mayor Highberger said that it should be reviewed (and possibly endorsed) by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the Bicycle Advisory Board. He said that you would get the resolution to the right persons who would in turn get it on the agendas. We would like to have the City Commission vote on the resolution just before National Trails Day which is June 3.

Eric Struckhoff will be presenting the resolution to the boards and the Commission, so please ensure that he and I are notified when it will be discussed at the board and Commission meetings.
