Utilities Department requested bids for contract mowing of the Wastewater Plant, Lift Stations and the Water Treatment Plants. Attached is a list of the areas mowed. Vernon Heine’s bid for the Clinton Plant was higher than KH Landscape’s bid and Tom’s Mowing’s bid for the Clinton Plant. The low bid for the Water Treatment Plants was tied between KH Landscape and Tom’s Mowing. We requested information from their references. KH Landscape is beginning their third year of mowing for the City of Leavenworth with no complaints. They have also been mowing for the Leavenworth School District. We called references form Tom’s Mowing and they were good but not as good as KH Landscape. This is a one year agreement with the option to renew the contract for two additional years providing both parties agree. Mowing service was budgeted in the 2006 budgeting process.
Recommendation:
Approve bid from Harrell Lawn Care for Wastewater Treatment Plant mowing in the amount of $13,180.30, from Outdoor Art for Lift Station mowing in the amount of $7,420.00, and from KH Landscaping for Water Treatment Plant mowing in the amount of $13,400.00, total of all three bids $34,000.30 (Utilities)
