RE:	Invoice For Bus Purchase

Five (5) buses will be purchased for the University of Kansas Park and Ride Express Bus System from Optima Bus Company.  The price per vehicle is $269,601, with a total cost of $1,348,005 for the five (5) buses.  The University of Kansas will pay twenty percent (20%) of the total purchase price.  The remaining eighty percent (80%) will be paid with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) § 5309 funds.  These are earmarked funds the City will receive through the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). 

The attached memorandum from the University explains KU’s decision to purchase the five buses from Optima Bus Company through the assignment of options.
