RE: DR-10-83-05, Vacation of Right of Way
Dear Mr. and Ms. Kennedy, Mr. Hoffman and Ms. Blackledge:
The Lawrence Historic Resources Commission (HRC) at their meeting on February 23, 2006, approved the above-referenced request. The approval was based upon a determination that the proposed construction “would not encroach upon, damage or destroy any historic property or the environs” with the following conditions:
1. The applicant provide complete construction documents, to scale, to be reviewed and approved by the Historic Resources Administrator prior to the final approval of the vacation of right-of-way by the City Commission
2. Any changes to the approved project will be submitted to the Historic Resources Commission prior to the commencement of any related work.
3. This recommendation is given with the understanding that the City Commission must approve the associated vacation request. Approval of this request by staff or the HRC does not guarantee the City Commission will approve the associated request for vacation.
When all of the conditions have been met, a release memo will be issued to the Director of Public Works. Should your plans change from the approved set of drawings you must notify the Planning Office prior to beginning construction on that portion of the project.
On behalf of the City of Lawrence and the Historic Resources Commission, I would like to thank you for your cooperation. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me (832-3151).
Sincerely,
Lynne Braddock Zollner
Historic Resources Administrator
