Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS:   The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department recognizes all its “Friends of the Park for 2005”; and

WHEREAS:   The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department acknowledges the contributions of businesses and individuals throughout the year who supported our programs, events and classes; and

WHEREAS:   The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department recognizes the investment of volunteers who spent numerous hours, enhancing our parks and other programs; and

WHEREAS:   The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department commends donors to the Wee Folks Scholarship Fund, supporting youth in skill development and participation in programs and activities; and

WHEREAS: The Parks and Recreation Department appreciates major gifts to the department further developing department facilities and programs;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dennis “Boog” Highberger, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, March 7, 2006, to be:
